Manchester United predicted XI vs Fulham in Premier League clash
Manchester United travel to Craven Cottage this weekend to face Fulham in an important Premier League clash for Erik ten Hag’s men.
The Reds have had an extremely difficult start to the campaign, losing eight of their opening 15 games. Ten Hag is under pressure to start turning the club’s fortunes around on the pitch.
That has not been helped by the latest news from the club, which confirms Casemiro will be out of action for ‘several weeks’ with a hamstring problem.
Victor Lindelof’s status for the game is also unknown after the manager confirmed he has been suffering from illness ahead of the visit to the capital.
However, there is some good news. Raphael Varane is fit for the clash and youngster Kobbie Mainoo is likely to be involved after getting much-needed minutes in the under-21s in the last week.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka also appeared off the bench for the second half against Newcastle and is in line to start this encounter following Diogo Dalot’s subpar performance in the Carabao Cup.
He will be joined by the defensive duo of Harry Maguire and Varane, who have started together just twice so far this term, as well as left-back Sergio Reguilon. There also has been positive news on the recovery of Luke Shaw.
In midfield, Ten Hag has a big decision to make since Casemiro is absent. Any combination he’s tested so far this term simply has not worked and the return of Manoo gives him a new and exciting option, albeit it’s also a risky one.
Putting Mainoo alongside Sofyan Amrabat at the base of midfield seems like the manager’s best option and the one he will go with. Bruno Fernandes will be stationed ahead of them after starting on the bench last game.
Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund will start together in the attack alongside Antony, who has struggled since returning to action but there are limited options. Alejandro Garnacho might be thrown in, meaning that Rashford starts from the right, but it appears an unlikely move.
The predicted XI for United’s clash against Fulham can be read in full below:
Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Maguire, Reguilon; Amrabat, Mainoo, B.Fernandes; Rashford, Hojlund, Antony
