Manchester United have progressed to the semi-finals of the FA Cup following a comeback win against Fulham at Old Trafford after a triple red card saw the visitors lose two players and their manager Marco Silva.

The Cottagers took the lead before Willian was sent off for using his hand to save Jadon Sancho’s shot. Alexander Mitrovic and Silva were then sent off for their reactions.

Bruno Fernandes (x2) and Marcel Sabitzer scored the goals to give United the win.

The player ratings are below:

David de Gea – 7.5/10

Had no significant saves to make in the first half, but was called upon more in the second. Made a stunning save to deny a second from Mitrovic and keep United in the game before the comeback.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6/10

The full-back had some good moments in link-up. Close to scoring near the end.

Harry Maguire – 6/10

Having been booked in the first half, Maguire looked clumsy. A slightly better performance in the second half.

Lisandro Martinez – 7.5/10

Some great passing throughout. Brilliant tackle at the end of Dan James.

Luke Shaw – 8.5/10

Brilliant assist for Sabitzer’s goal and was involved in most of the good going forward for United.

Scott McTominay – 5/10

Was fairly positionally sound off the ball, however, did not have much impact on the fixture beyond this. Was replaced by Antony after an hour.

Marcel Sabitzer – 7/10

What a finish for the goal. Solid otherwise too.

Bruno Fernandes – 8.5/10

Two vital goals and didn’t stop running. Quality wasn’t always there early on but you simply cannot knock two goals.

Jadon Sancho – 8.5/10

Crucial involvement in both goals and looked really promising on the left side in the second half. On the right, he just doesn’t have that relationship with the full-back like he does with Shaw.

Wout Weghorst – 5/10

Was ineffective during the first hour up front, and when he moved into a slightly deeper role. Done OK after that move.

Marcus Rashford – 6.5/10

Pretty quiet throughout. Did put in a teasing cross in the first half.

Substitutes

Antony – 8/10

Helped change the game. Perfect pass to Sancho for the build-up to the penalty and that’s something he’s needed to work on.

Fred – 7/10

Injected extra energy and a solid assist for the third.
