Manchester United player ratings in 2-2 draw vs Leeds United in Premier League clash
Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw against Leeds United after conceding twice before Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho secured a point for Erik ten Hag’s side.
It was a poor overall performance from The Reds, who conceded at the beginning of either half.
Here are how UtdDistrict rated the players:
David de Gea – 5.5/10
A couple of impressive saves were made. Couldn’t do much about either goal.
Diogo Dalot – 4.5/10
A difficult return to the side.
Raphael Varane – 6/10
Unfortunate to put the ball in his own net. So many dangerous situations to deal with. Done OK in that respect. Lucky that a free-kick struck the post after leaning away whilst in the wall.
Lisandro Martinez – 8/10
Simply brilliant again. Several fierce blocks and tackles to keep the United defence intact in difficult situations.
Luke Shaw – 6/10
A mixed bag on the evening from the left-back but some phenomenal work to help United equal the score at 2-2.
Marcel Sabitzer – 5/10
Some very good moments on his full debut, including the ball wide that led to United’s first, but also some sloppy moments and showed that he isn’t quite Casemiro (no shame in that).
Fred – 2/10
He’s been excellent from the bench this season but this was a very poor performance from the Brazilian. Couldn’t keep the ball ticking well enough and caught in possession too many times.
Marcus Rashford – 6.5/10
Not involved enough in the first half but moved across to the left and centre in the second half and showed an improved performance. Incredible header to score United’s goal.
Bruno Fernandes – 5.5/10
Sloppy in possession today. Still produced some incredible passes, including one that would’ve been an assist if it wasn’t for a goal-line clearance.
Alejandro Garnacho – 5/10
So close to scoring on a number of occasions but also was equalled by Luke Ayling on the left. Lost the ball in the middle for Leeds’ second.
Wout Weghorst – 3/10
Rather anonymous throughout the game and his hold-up was disappointing.
Substitutes
Jadon Sancho – 7/10
Sharp off the bench and got the equalising goal, albeit from a fortunate finish. Looked much more dangerous with runners around him.
Facundo Pellistri – 6.5/10
Some impressive strength to hold off his man in the immediate build-up to United’s first goal. Sharp.
Tyrell Malacia – N/A
Victor Lindelof – N/A
