Manchester United make opening offer for surprise Euro 2024 star, in ‘pole position’ for signing
Manchester United have made an opening offer for one surprise Euro 2024 star and are in the ‘pole position’ for the signing.
That is according to 442, as per Sport Witness, who state United are showing interest in Bologna’s Dan Ndoye and have already made a concrete offer for the Swiss star.
Bologna are currently dealing with an increasing number of suitors for Ndoye, who has shone for Switzerland in their run to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
It was further explained that the Italian club have set a £21 million asking price for the winger, and it is unclear if the Reds are willing to pay that amount.
Nevertheless, the report clarified that United are in ‘pole position’ for the forward and have progressed further than other interested parties, such as Inter Milan.
United are said to be ‘putting pressure’ on securing a deal for the 23-year-old. They have submitted a ‘concrete offer’, though the details are yet to be revealed, which currently puts them at the forefront for Ndoye’s signature.
The winger played 38 times for the Serie A outfit last term. He scored three times and assisted a further five goals. He netted an important goal against Germany in Switzerland’s final group game to secure their second-placed finish in the group.
He is not the only Bologna star on the Old Trafford club’s radar, with Joshua Zirkzee also heavily linked with a move.
Zirkzee, 23, has a £34 million release clause in his contract and looks set to join United, who are prepared to trigger that option after assessing the potential transfer.
