Manchester United on ‘red alert’ for 26yo English talent, available for loan in January
Manchester United are reportedly on ‘red alert’ for a 26-year-old English talent who may be available for loan in the January transfer window.
The Reds have already been linked to several players ahead of the 2025 transfer windows after signing five players in the summer.
Ruben Amorim has come into the club as the new head coach and wants to ensure that new additions have the right ‘intensity’ to match the playstyle he’s aiming to introduce.
One player who United was regularly linked with in the summer was Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who had been one of Leicester City’s best players in their title-winning season in the Championship.
However, that deal did not materialise and he instead decided to reunite with Enzo Maresca at Chelsea, which has not worked out for him so far.
The English midfielder has made 10 appearances so far this season but is yet to start a Premier League game. He is part of the ‘B Team’ Chelsea have made for the European Conference League.
This bit-part role could influence a potential exit from Stamford Bridge just six months after making the move.
According to Mark Brus on the Daily Briefing, the Blues could consider to let Dewsbury-Hall move in the January transfer window, most likely on a loan deal.
It was claimed that Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are among the more high-profile clubs interested in the 26-year-old in the mid-season window.
However, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea would be open to letting him move to a big six rival.
For United, Dewsbury-Hall would likely be a decent option to provide depth in the squad, although he would then be suffering a similar issue to the one he’s experiencing at Chelsea.
The Reds also have other priorities, such as left wingback or striker, which need more attention than another potential no.8 in their ranks.
