Manchester United name price of Raphaël Varane amid Bayern Munich January interest
Raphaël Varane is generating January interest as the French defender drops rank at Manchester United under Erik ten Hag.
Raphaël Varane has dropped in favorability under Erik ten Hag in recent weeks, with positive performances from Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelöf seeing Varane drop to the bench at Manchester United.
Although the player has accepted that his current position is due to tactical reasons and that there is no personal feud with manager Ten Hag, this has not stopped clubs circling with the 30-year-old looking to sign what may be his last big contract as a football player.
According to Florian Plettenberg, this has resulted in Bayern Munich discussing the player ahead of their window.

The report explained that internally, Bayern have considered Raphaël Varane and discussions have taken place. It is ‘currently unrealistic’ because of his salary but a deal remains under observation in the coming weeks ahead of the January transfer window.
Further to this, Bayern Munich have been informed that Varane’s departure from United in January is possible for a fee between £17.5-26.2 million and that a loan is not an option at this stage.
Varane has only started two of United’s last six games and has only played one full 90-minute fixture in that time.
He has struggled with injuries since joining Old Trafford in 2021 and despite being United’s most experienced defender, some may feel that moving Varane on while he still has some value may be a wise move.
United have struggled with injuries in the back this season, with Lisandro Martínez not expected back until January and Jonny Evans facing a few weeks on the sidelines, too. Varane’s departure in January may be unlikely, but cannot be ruled out.
