Manchester United have reportedly set their demands for Marcus Rashford in January as they enter talks with a surprise Serie A club for a possible 2025 transfer.

Marcus Rashford is set to leave Manchester United in 2025 after a bombshell interview confirmed the 27-year-old’s plans to seek a new challenge.

Once a talisman for United, Rashford’s form has declined since his incredible 30-goal season under Erik ten Hag in 2022/23. Under Rúben Amorim, he has struggled for game time, with players like Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes now ahead of him in the pecking order.

Rashford’s story at United began nearly two decades ago and includes a legendary debut as an 18-year-old, where he scored twice against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League before repeating the feat days later against Arsenal in the Premier League.

With United reportedly open to offers of around £40 million, Rashford’s exit seems imminent, signaling the end of a remarkable chapter at Old Trafford as he looks to embrace a fresh start elsewhere.

United set Rashford January transfer demands

It’s sometimes hard to set a value for a player who has never been involved in a transfer, and in the case of Rashford, his bouts of world-class confirmed mixed with poor spells of make it even harder to put a price tag on his head.

Therefore, according to Relevo, United have instead concluded that they would like to offload the 27-year-old on loan in January and agree an option to buy for the club that receives him.

Previously, United are said to be open to accepting a £40 million fee for the player, but they may want any option to buy to be higher than this and hope that the winger can recreate his good form, rising his stocks.

It’s also said that United are open to paying part of Rashford’s wages, which are over £ 300,000 a week.

The Spanish report indicates that United are actively trying to offload him, and considering hat Amorim has not used the winger in the club’s last five fixtures, it feels as if life without Rashford may already be underway.

United have spoken to AC Milan about Rashford

While many have assumed that Rashford would be aiming to join Europe’s title challengers across the continent, United are also seemingly aiming to speak with other clubs not sitting as high.

AC Milan sit 8th in the Serie A table, below where Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his club would have liked, and bringing in Rashford could be the spark they need, although they currently have Rafael Leão in the position, too.

The report from Relevo is keen to point out that it is United who are pushing the negotiations, as they are “pulling the strings” behind his exit and find him a new club in January.

Although Barcelona have been touted as a side who may be interested, they are currently unable to register new players and Relevo have ruled them out as an option.
