Manchester United are reportedly in the race to sign a certain Leicester City star, with the player already receiving a huge bit of praise from Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
The Reds will be in the market this summer without a doubt, and they are reportedly eyeing some more players within the Premier League, with a certain £13m rated Leicester City man on the radar.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy would still have a good relationship with Manchester United despite not being kept on to be part of Ruben Amorim’s coaching staff, and the side from Old Trafford may use that relationship to try and sign one of his players.
Leicester are already relegated and will naturally lose some talent, with top Premier League clubs sure to be lurking to poach some of their established and young players.
United are reportedly one such club with eyes on a player who became the third youngest player in his club’s history a couple of weeks ago on his debut and has continued to be involved in the senior squad under the guidance of Van Nistelrooy.
Manchester United ‘make offer’ for Jake Evans
According to Fichajes, Manchester United have made an offer for £13m-rated Jake Evans, who made his debut for Leicester against Brighton & Hove Albion last month and also came on against Southampton on Saturday.
Evans is a striker but can also play anywhere across the front line. The Englishman has scored 22 goals in 38 games for the youth sides at Leicester during his time at the club. Performances like this have prompted his call-up to the first team, and his manager Van Nistelrooy has been praising the forward in recent weeks.
“Realistically, it’s very simple. When they’re ready and good enough and better than what we have, they’re going to have to play, because it’s the best for the football club,” the ex-United striker said.
“For Jake now, he’s adjusting to training with the first team, making very valuable minutes in the Under-21s. He’s picked up a little injury now so we need to look after him.
“Let’s hope he keeps developing and can train a lot more with us. But we have to also be careful. Little injuries like he has now, we have to assess him, we hope it’s not much. He’s a great prospect for the future and hopefully the near, near future.”
This was before Evans made his debut for the side at Brighton, which shows Van Nistelrooy may have plans to move him into the first team in the Championship if he does decide to stay on at the club next season.
Manchester United have reportedly made an offer for the player; however, they do have competition from Tottenham Hotspur in the race for the 16-year-old.
Man United’s focus on youth refreshing
It has been a long time coming that Manchester United began focusing on recruiting young talent, but it is still refreshing. Signings like Diego Leon and Chido Obi seem to be becoming the norm, and long may it continue.
The approach of targeting superstars has backfired in the past, leading United to miss out on the likes of Moises Caicedo, Julian Alvarez and Enzo Fernandez in recent years.

A shift in recruitment focus like this will allow United to find the next Benjamin Sesko before having situations like missing out on the player and then being quoted £100m for him when he signs for another club down the line.
If United are to sign Jake Evans, it will be another step in a string of correct directions.
