Manchester United make contact over Antoine Griezmann transfer
Manchester United have reportedly made contact over a potential transfer for Antoine Griezmann to join Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Over the last season or so, Antoine Griezmann has proved himself to be one of the very best footballers in the world after a dip in form, currently captaining Atletico de Madrid.
At the age of 32, Griezmann has scored 12 goals and so far provided one assist for Atletico, and is helping them try to build a title challenge at La Liga, but this has reportedly caught the interest of both Erik ten Hag and Manchester United.
This is according to El Nacional, who report that The Red Devils are pressing for a move for Griezmann, with Diego Simione worried that the Frenchman may leave the Wanda Metropolitano.

The report explains that although his most likely destinations seemed to be Major League Soccer in the United States and the Saudi Pro League in Saudi Arabia, the Premier League is certainly a new league that the forward would be keen to try.
El Nacional explain that representatives of United have already travelled to Madrid in order to convince Griezmann to join their club and help fix their misfiring line, and have offered him triple the current salary that he earns at Atleti – something his current club cannot match.
This would land Griezmann just shy of £18.5 million a year at Old Trafford as they urgently look to try and find a solution to their attacking woes, and although the report does not strictly state when this transfer could take place, one would assume that it would be during he Janaury market.
United will travel to face Everton next Sunday afternoon in a bit to improve their Premier League position after climbing to 6th place during the last round of fixtures.
