Manchester United have been handed a boost in their protracted sale of Jadon Sancho as Chelsea receive a £67 million blow.

Manchester United is working to finalize several player sales on the last day of the transfer window to generate funds after acquiring Joshua ZirkzeeLeny YoroMatthijs de LigtNoussair Mazraoui, and Manuel Ugarte.

Erik ten Hag has already secured over £60 million from the sales of  Aaron Wan-BissakaMason Greenwood, and Willy Kambwala, among others. More departures are anticipated before the transfer deadline at 11 p.m. on Friday.

Jadon Sancho is the most prominent high-value player expected to depart on Friday, although reports on Thursday evening claimed that Juventus had dropped out of the race to sign him.

However, the Serie A giants were not the only team interested in the 24-year-old winger, and Chelsea have been handed a £67 million blow that could benefit United.

According to Gianluca di Marzio, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who Chelsea had been chasing the whole summer, has agreed to sign for Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli, snubbing interest from the London club.

Osimhen will sign for the Saudi side for around £67 million plus add-ons. Chelsea, who had been pursuing the player, now have that same amount of money free in their budget following their failed attempts to sign the Nigerian international.

This leaves United with a potentially fantastic boost. Chelsea want another attacking signing before the window shuts, and with those funds now free, they may return for Sancho.

Previously, it has been touted that the club would be willing to sign Sancho in as a swap deal for 29-year-old Raheem Sterling, but with extra funds available, they may choose to head in for Sancho with a bid.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca recently praised Sancho, although he refused to comment any further when asked by the press about his thoughts on the winger’s potential move to Stamford Bridge.

“If we can sign a player that can help us, for sure, I would do it. Jadon is not our player. I know him very well. But he is not our player,” he explained.

Reports suggest that Sancho wanted to sign for Chelsea over Juventus, and United have seemingly lowered their demand from £40 million to £25 million as deadline day approaches.
