Manchester United issue Noussair Mazraoui injury update amid Amad latest and Diogo Dalot’s return

Rúben Amorim has provided an update on Noussair Mazraoui’s fitness amid the return of Diogo Dalot to Manchester United training.

Manchester United open the Premier League weekend with a Saturday afternoon clash against Brentford in West London.

Under Rúben Amorim, United have managed two wins, two defeats and a draw, a return that sees them sitting 11th in the table and still battling to find rhythm.

Their victories so far include Bruno Fernandes’ late penalty at Burnley and last weekend’s 2-1 win over Chelsea, a game that swung decisively in their favour after Robert Sánchez was sent off.

Following that result against Enzo Maresca’s side, Amorim has the opportunity to guide United to back-to-back league wins for the first time since his arrival — a potential turning point in their push for consistency.

Amorim issues Mazraoui injury update

United’s last fixture was against Chelsea on Saturday evening, but since then, Noussair Mazraoui has not been spotted in any of the training footage.

However, Diogo Dalot has returned to full training after missing the last two fixtures, while Lisandro Martínez remains on an individual programme as he recovers from a knee injury.

Meanwhile, Casemiro is suspended for the fixture due to a red card issued to him against Chelsea. Speaking to the press, Amorim confirmed that he will not return until after the international break in October.

“Licha [Martínez] is out. Casemiro is out because of the red card,” the head coach said. When asked about Mazraoui, Amorim continued. “He is out also. He will not be back until the international break.”

Amad in good spirits despite social media problems

Following United’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea, United winger Amad posed for a photo and shirt swap with former Red Alejandro Garnacho, who signed for the Blues in a £40 million deal toward the end of August.

Garnacho’s recent return to Old Trafford was not a sweet one, with United’s fans booing him when they could amid a fractured relationship.

Although reports suggested that Amad had received help from United and was ready to play despite the ordeal, Amorim has since confirmed that the player will miss out on the fixture due to a family bereavement.

“Amad is not here,” the head coach said. “Someone in his family passed away. He returned home, and we are giving him all of the support.”

When asked about the recent social media issues the winger has faced, Amorim continued: “I say the same thing to my players – shut down social media. It’s like that nowadays. It’s a price you have to pay. But the important thing is the club and his friends are real life for Amad. We are here for him.

“It’s a tough moment, and in this kind of moment, the next game is not important. We can win without Ama,d and we want to win also for him.”

We send all our wishes to Amad and his family at this time.
