Manchester United identify two ambitious midfield targets as Casemiro update provided

Manchester United are looking to follow up their transfer momentum with two promising midfielders after signing Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha.

Along with the search to sign some consistent forwards like Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap this summer, Manchester United have also made progress with their midfielder recruitments.

Reports are flying in that United are showing strong interest in a couple of Premier League midfielders. As per TEAMtalk, Ruben Amorim highly rates one of these midfielders.

However, United are not the only team who is looking closely at their situation, with Bayern Munich and Juventus are also interested in the player.

Both of these midfielders require a large investment from United’s side, which could become a problem with them set to pay over £90 million for Cunha and Delap.

United eyeing two Premier League midfielders

In recent weeks, United’s interest in Adam Wharton and Bruno Guimaraes has been more apparent, the report states. However, both of these midfielders come with a different set of problems for the Red Devils.

As things stand, Newcastle are not ready to part ways with their star midfielder who played a crucial role in their campaign this year which saw them lifting the Carabao Cup.

On the other hand, Palace’s Wharton has interests from Serie A and Bundesliga as well, making a possible move to United more difficult.

To top it all off, the Reds have internal squad problems that stand as a big hurdle towards the venture to sign these two Premier League stars.

United planning to offload Casemiro

The reason why United are trying to bolster their midfield is partly because the hierarchy are looking to offload ex-Real Madrid star Casemiro, the report continued.

Despite being one of United’s better players this season, the Brazilian international’s high salary makes a sale something the club are considering.

However, it will not be a straight-forward deal if Casemiro does leave the club, with United hoping to receive for at least £20 million for a transfer and the player wanting a high salary if he was to leave.

Some fans may argue that the club should try to negotiate a new deal with the 33-year-old on lower wages, as his experience could be crucial for this young squad, but there are no guarantees that he’d agree to a pay-cut with Saudi Pro League teams sniffing around.
