Manchester United have reportedly reached two agreements with Juventus regarding the potential signing of Jadon Sancho, one of which involves Douglas Luiz.
Manchester United are focusing on their third signing of the summer after confirming the arrivals of forward Matheus Cunha and left-back Diego Leon.
Cunha, 26, has signed for £62.5 million from Wolverhampton Wanderers, while 18-year-old Leon joins from Paraguayan Cerro Porteño for an initial £3 million fee that could rise to £7 million with add-ons.
The club are known to be still negotiating with Brentford for the signing of Bryan Mbeumo, with two bids totalling £55 million and £62.5 million having both been rejected.
Rúben Amorim is also keen to add a new striker and midfielder to his ranks ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, with the hope being that the majority of his signings will be complete before the squad head off on their pre-season tour later this month.
United have two agreements in place for Sancho
United winger Jadon Sancho is on his way out of Old Trafford for good this summer after returning from a one-season loan spell at Chelsea, and reportedly has his eyes on signing for Juventus this summer.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A side have already reached an agreement with United based on two possible deals, with both still on the table: either a swap involving Douglas Luiz or a transfer for around £21 million plus add-ons.
What’s still missing is an agreement with the player. Sancho is reportedly enthusiastic about joining Juventus, and he has allegedly promised Juve executive Damien Comolli that he would lower his wages.
The two sides are now trying to find a solution that works for everyone. Juve are offering a salary similar to what they gave Jonathan David, around £5-6 million net per season.
Sancho, however, is asking for just under £7 million, a figure Juventus don’t consider sustainable. One of the club’s priorities is to reduce the wage bill and avoid financial burden.
Amorim must make his choice
Should Juventus and Sancho agree on personal terms, the next step will be for Amorim to decide whether to allocate the £21 million to his transfer budget or agree to the swap that would see former Aston Villa player Luiz join the club.
With time now of the essence at Old Trafford in terms of the summer transfer window and the looming prospect of the start of next campaign, it would be worth initially trying for the Luiz swap deal, but only if it can be resolved quickly.

The Brazilian is on a wage of around £140,000 a week at Juventus, which is a contract United would likely be able to match, considering that he is a 27-year-old experienced professional. Should the two parties agree on personal terms, the transfer should go smoothly.
Luiz is a Premier League proven midefleder with bags of experience from his five seasons at Villa Park, and would bring a lot of what Amorim wants in his new players this summer.
But, if a deal cannot be struck within a week or so, it would be better off United pocket the £21 million and use that to fund a separate deal.
