Manchester United have been told conditions of £100m double signing, INEOS must act
Manchester United have been told the conditions of an £100 million double signing and INEOS must act when the summer transfer window opens.
The Reds will be looking to add quality and depth to their squad this summer and INEOS will particularly be aiming to strengthen the defensive department.
Raphaël Varane has already confirmed his summer departure, while the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelöf and Jonny Evans have uncertain futures.
It has been well reported that the Old Trafford club will look to bring in two defenders when the season ends.
Leny Yoro and Jarrad Branthwaite demands set
According to Caught Offside, United are among a group of European heavyweights interested in 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro.
It was added that the Premier League clubs currently tracking Yoro appear to be waiting to discover if the player is interested in joining PSG or Real Madrid before making a bid for the his services. Other reports have suggested a move to the Santiago Bernabéu is unlikely.
If United were to move for the Frenchman, Lille would be ready to accept offers of around £40 million, though the price could be pushed up given the heavy interest.
Meanwhile, United have reportedly prepared a £50 million bid for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. According to various reports, his price tag has been set between £60-80 million.
However, the financial problems the Toffees are suffering have been said to be a factor in their summer priorities. And so, United could try to cut a deal with their Premier League competitors.
Why United must act
While these two potential deals would cost the Reds over £100 million, they would be two major additions that would transform the defence at Old Trafford for years to come.
INEOS have been making statements off the pitch but if they really want to make an impact, they will have to make statements on it as well.
United have many different positions that need addressing, but if they were to act on both Yoro and Branthwaite this summer, they would have the start of an incredible spine to build on.
