Manchester United have agreed perfect second loan move for exciting star after Jadon Sancho to Aston Villa

After Jadon Sancho’s loan deal to Aston Villa has been completed, Manchester United have agreed for an Academy star to head out on loan

With Manchester United having already crashed out of the Carabao Cup, and with no European football to offer, minutes for young talent will be extremely hard to come by this season.

A number of loan deals of Academy stars have already been agreed, with Toby Collyer joining West Brom, Daniel Gore joining Rotherham, and Ethan Wheatley going to Northampton.

United have been busy on deadline day, with Antony finally getting his desired move back to Real Betis permanently, and Jadon Sancho has agreed to join Aston Villa on a straight loan.

After that loan deal has been completed, United have also agreed to a loan deal for an exciting Academy talent who recently broke through into the first team.

Sheffield Wednesday in for Harry Amass

Harry Amass, who broke into Manchester United’s first team last season, is set to spend the upcoming campaign out on loan in search of regular playing time.

The 18-year-old had to wait patiently for his breakthrough, making his senior debut in March against Leicester City before going on to record 11 further appearances by the end of the season.

With the summer signing of Diego Leon strengthening United’s defensive options, the club has decided to send Amass out on loan for more consistent minutes, leaving him out of Ruben Amorim’s pre-season tour squad.

Now, as reported by The Star, Amass is set for a medical as Sheffield Wednesday ahead of a season-long loan deal.

The outlet report that due to the current situation at the club, Wednesday would only be able to complete a deal if United pay 100% of Amass’ wages, something they are reportedly willing to do.

Championship move is perfect for Amass

While fans may be concerned about the fact that Amass will be joining a club in a dire situation and may be a bad environment for the talented left-back to walk into, there are a couple of reasons why this could be a good move for the 18-year-old.

United believe that the main priority for Amass this season should be for Amass to build on last year’s appearances by playing first-team football, something that will be very likely considering Sheffield Wednesday’s severe lack of squad depth.

The fact that the club are in such a dire situation could also be a slight blessing in disguise, as there could be value in Amass going through the challenges of an unstable environment.

There is no doubt that Amass is an extremely talented left-back, and a loan away to the Championship where he can become more physical, owing to the nature of the league, should put him in good stead for long term success at Old Trafford.
