Manchester United fans have made their feelings known about a “shambles” decision which has been confirmed for the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.
Manchester United are looking to make many changes to their squad this summer in preparation for the next Premier League season.
After a dreadful 15th-placed finish last term, Ruben Amorim’s side have to show immediate improvement on and off the pitch.
With no European football to play across the campaign, United are expected to provide much more consistent results and performances.
But the Reds are not the only ones planning to make some interesting changes next term, with the League itself open to some controversial adjustments.
United fans make feelings known about “shambles” decision
It has been revealed by the Telegraph that there will be several US-style innovations in the Premier League next season which includes TV coverage featuring touchline interviews with players who have been substituted.
Among the other changes being made are TV cameras being granted access to changing rooms – although not while team talks are being conducted.
Camera operators will also be allowed to enter the field of play to capture close-up footage of goal celebrations.
United fans have made their feelings clear about these changes, with the general consensus being that they are simply not needed in the English game.
“Shambles! It’s meant to be football not a tv show,” one supporter wrote on social media in response to the report.
Another posted: “Fans don’t need this, players don’t want this, don’t do it.”
“Said it before, but why do they keep messing with things absolutely no one is asking for? They’re not going to give us anymore insight. It’ll be same boring cliched answers 95% of the time,” a third fan added.
Premier League changes have been inevitable
There has been a clear and conscious change with the TV coverage of the Premier League which has suggested that this is the direction they want to head in.
In a world where short-form clips are the most popular, we have seen Sky Sports adapt their punditry and analysis to better suit this format. It is becoming obvious that there is a desire to make clip-able content.
You only have to look back to April when Thierry Henry was ‘analysing’ Leny Yoro’s role during a goal United conceded. He mocked the defender for glancing at the linesman and turned his head in a comical fashion as well. That clip was quickly uploaded across Sky Sports’ social media channels.
These changes have been inevitable with the direction the coverage is heading towards. There have even been rumours about half-time interviews with managers – 38 more for Amorim to conduct. What a joy.
