Manchester United eye Jarrod Bowen as stance on West Ham United’s future revealed amid relegation worry

Manchester United have looked at Jarrod Bowen, who has sparked interest from many Premier League clubs, as his future at West Ham has been revealed.

Manchester United saw great change to their attacking line with the incentive of bringing in more Premier League-proven players to the squad, with the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

United also saw the exits of many wide forwards, such as Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony, who all saw their time at Old Trafford come to an end in the summer transfer window.

West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen could become the latest recruit as his future with the Hammers looks doubtful, with relegation on the cards.

The 29-year-old’s current stance has been revealed amid conversation over a potential departure from the London Stadium.

West Ham set to fight for Bowen

According to reports from TEAMtalk, Bowen considers his future to be “very open” for now; however, West Ham are “fiercely protective” of their captain.

The Hammers would demand a fee of around £52.5 million for the England international, given the circumstances of his current contract and market value, but this fee could be lowered in the event of relegation.

Fellow relegation rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in Bowen, who could follow in the footsteps of former teammate, Mohammed Kudus, but United may offer a more stable structure as well as European football, as Michael Carrick’s players hunt down a place in the Champions League.

West Ham sit in 18th place ahead of the weekend’s fixtures, and Bowen signed a long-term contract in 2023, declaring his loyalty to the club up until 2030.

His decision will ultimately be decided by West Ham’s success. The forward has been a loyal servant to the Hammers, but relegation may see his ambition get the better of him in the pursuit of European football once again.

Where would Bowen fit at United?

Bowen has consistently demonstrated his versatility at West Ham, often being their striker amid their attacking issues. The Englishman has also shown his quality as a right-winger, showing directness and pace in attack.

Meanwhile, United’s front three has seen some stirring as injury to Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu has caused rotation between Amad, Mbeumo and Cunha.

Bowen could be the reliable source that United could rely on to provide the squad depth in the final third, when needed, particularly as European football would demand much more availability within the squad.

For now, Bowen’s priority is keeping West Ham in England’s top flight. Meanwhile, United turn to Oliver Glazer’s Crystal Palace, who come to Old Trafford on Sunday looking to end Carrick’s unbeaten run.
