Manchester United are expected to welcome Ramsus Højlund back to the first-team squad as Erik ten Hag prepares to face Crystal Palace.

Manchester United head to London in excellent form, having netted ten goals in their last two matches.

Erik ten Hag‘s side secured a Premier League victory against Southampton last weekend, followed by a commanding 7-0 win over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup third round.

Their focus now shifts back to the Premier League as they prepare for a clash with Crystal Palace. Currently sitting 16th in the table, Palace are still searching for their first win of the season.

Selhurst Park, however, holds bitter memories for Ten Hag, as it was the site of United’s humiliating 4-0 defeat towards the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

First, a decision is set to be made regarding two of Manchester United’s returning players as the side looks to continue building on its good momentum.

Ramsus Højlund and Mason Mount returned to first-team training this week after both players underwent spells on the sidelines. While Mount has only just returned, Crystal Palace likely comes too soon for him.

However, the case is different with Højlund. The Danish striker returned to individual training two weeks ago and has been building his fitness again. Although he was not part of the squad that faced Barnsley, he could well be in the team to play Palace.

Joshua Zirkzee has been acting as the club’s No. 9 so far and will likely remain so for the upcoming weekend clash, but Højlund may be able to come off the bench for his first season appearance.

Meanwhile, the sight of Noussair Mazraoui coming on against Barnsley was welcome after slight injury scares earlier this week, and those such as Kobbie Mainoo got well-earned rest.

Bar the potential introduction of Højlund, no change is expected to the rest of the squad, although Ten Hag will issue an official update on his team during his press conference.
