Manchester United ‘doing their part’ to offload “unbelievable” outcast, agreement should be reached ‘next week’

Manchester United are reportedly working hand in hand with Juventus to secure a permanent transfer of Jadon Sancho this summer.

Manchester United are advancing on selling some of their high-profile outcasts after Rúben Amorim asked that they not return to the club for pre-season.

Jadon Sancho spent last season on loan at Chelsea, while Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia all departed on six-month deals elsewhere after being deemed surplus to requirements.

Alejandro Garnacho is also now firmly on the transfer list after falling out with the United head coach due to comments made after the Europa League final loss against Tottenham last season.

All five players have been told to delay their returns to pre-season training to finalise moves to other clubs this summer.

Sancho agreement should be struck next week

The player most advanced in their exit is Sancho, who is currently in negotiations to join Serie A giants Juventus this summer. According to transfer expert Graeme Bailey, Juve’s new exec, Damien Comolli, believes an agreement could be struck as early as next week.

“We are told that Juventus’ new general manager, Damien Comolli, believes he has made progress on the deal. He feels that Sancho has agreed to a wage drop whilst also securing a suitable pay-off from Man United. He believes Juventus are well-placed to secure a deal,” Bailey told UnitedInFocus.

“We understand that United feel they are doing their part to secure his move – Comolli believes that United are willing to go further than merely dropping their price.

“He is of the understanding that Sancho wants to move to Turin, and we are told by sources close to the player that he does think Juventus would be an interesting move.

“Comolli is accelerating talks, and he believes he can strike an agreement in the next week, as long as talks continue as they are.”

How much is Sancho leaving for this summer?

According to multiple Italian reports, Sancho, who former United coach Benni McCarthy believed was “unbelievable” in training, is expected to cost Juventus around £21.5 million plus add-ons this summer.

It has been claimed that United’s asking price is around £26 million, but the club would be willing to see some of this made up in performance-based or achievement-based bonuses.

If United were to sell Sancho for their asking price, his exit from Chelsea could become a blessing in disguise. The London club paid United £5 million to get out of having to commit to their obligation to sign the winger for £25 million earlier this summer.

This means that, if United secure their £26 million, they will have earned an extra £6 million compared to what they initially expected when sending the winger to Chelsea last summer.
