Manchester United deadline day transfer collapses, “excellent” star must reconsider previous offer

One of Manchester United’s deadline day transfers has collapsed and an “excellent” star must now reconsider a previous offer.

Manchester United are braced for a hectic transfer deadline day, with speculation mounting over possible arrivals and departures.

The club has already completed deals for Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Šeško, along with promising young defender Diego Leon.

On the outgoing front, Marcus Rashford has sealed a loan move to Barcelona, while Alejandro Garnacho has made a permanent switch to Chelsea in a £40 million transfer.

In the final hours of the transfer window, United are hoping to complete a deal for Senne Lammens while also finalising several exits.

Tyrell Malacia is one of the players who United want to see leave the club on deadline day. The defender has been exiled from the first-team group since he returned from loan.

He was set to move to La Liga side Elche on an initial loan move but that deal has suddenly collapsed on deadline day.

That’s according to The Athletic, who report that discussions broke down over the weekend after all parties involved were unable to agree on the inclusion of a clause to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

It was explained that Malacia could be the only unwanted player at Old Trafford to remain at the club after the transfer window slams shut.

Malacia must reconsider previous offer

Malacia had previously been linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabia before talks with the Spanish side heated up.

While the English transfer window closes on Monday evening, the Saudi market remains open until 10 September.

Malacia, who has been described as an “excellent” player, must now reconsider a potential move to the Middle East if he wants to play consistent football.

With the likes of Patrick Dorgu, Diogo Dalot and even Diego Leon as options on the left, Malacia is unlikely to get any football at Old Trafford if he stays.

His contract at United runs out next summer but the Reds have an option to extend that for another 12 months.
