Manchester United could suffer major setback vs Crystal Palace after Ruben Amorim claim, “struggling…”

Manchester United could suffer a major setback in their next game against Crystal Palace as one player is on the verge of facing a ban.

After going five games unbeaten, Manchester United lost against Everton in the worst possible way, failing to score against 10 men.

The defeat has ruined the feel-good factor of recent weeks at Old Trafford and the only way to return to that is by securing a win against Crystal Palace next week.

That is much easier said than done, however, with Oliver Glasner’s side being one of the best teams in the Premier League so far this term.

Ruben Amorim’s side will be focused on getting three points although there is another concern as they head towards this game.

United could suffer major setback vs Palace

One of United’s most important players so far this season has been Casemiro, as the defensive midfielder has found form after difficulties last term.

Even though he has been in form, the Brazilian is still getting in trouble with the officials and he received his fourth yellow card of the season against Everton.

Premier League rules state that players will receive a one-match suspension if they receive five bookings in the first 19 games of the season. United have played just 12 so far this term.

Palace have some tricky players in their squad and it would be no surprise if that game forces Casemiro into his fifth caution of the campaign.

That would cause a dilemma for Amorim, who would have to prepare for a clash against West Ham without his main midfielder.

Amorim says Ugarte is struggling

Casemiro missing games should not be a concern at Old Trafford anymore but the fact is that his replacement cannot be trusted.

Manuel Ugarte has been struggling all season long and was left as an unused substitute against Everton on Monday evening.

Speaking about the Urugauyan last week, Amorim admitted: “He is struggling in the moment, but it is our job to try and help our players. Again, everything can change. You saw it, five weeks ago, the environment was completely different.

“I know that Ugarte is struggling in the moment and my job is to help him to feel, as a player, like I felt when he was a Sporting player. But it’s a different role and he needs to adapt, and he needs to improve, especially in training.”

Even though he has previously stated that Kobbie Mainoo is competing with Bruno Fernandes for a place in the team, it wouldn’t be surprising if Amorim decided to leave Ugarte out if Casemiro does get suspended.
