Manchester United’s travelling squad for their upcoming Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur has been confirmed and an Under-21s star has been included.
Manchester United head to North London on Saturday to face Tottenham Hotspur, unbeaten in their last four Premier League games.
Ruben Amorim’s side have found form with wins over Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton, plus a 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham are level on points with United but have struggled at home. Their loss to Chelsea last weekend drew boos from supporters, though they bounced back with a 4-0 Champions League win over Copenhagen.
The sides met four times last season, including the Europa League final, with Spurs winning each encounter. United will be determined to change that record this weekend.
Amorim calls up U21s star for Spurs vs United
United have not won at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium since 2021 but will feel like this is a good chance to end that streak.
Spurs could be missing several of their important players for this clash, with Mohammed Kudus a doubt for the game, according to Thomas Frank.
For the Reds, it was confirmed on Friday evening that Lisandro Martínez and Kobbie Mainoo had not travelled to the capital with the squad.
Martínez is still approaching full fitness after an extended injury while the reason for Mainoo’s absence remains unknown. He has struggled for game-time this season.
Amorim has decided to call up Jack Fletcher from the Under-21s and he could be named on the bench at Spurs, a move that would preserve United’s record of naming an academy player in every matchday squad since October 1937.
While the majority of games this season have not seen an academy player start for United, Mainoo has been on the bench to keep the record going. Amorim has previously said that he does not want to be the manager to end that streak.
Other than Mainoo’s absence and Fletcher’s promotion, United’s squad is the same as their trip to Forest. Noussair Mazraoui remains available after returning to action in the second half at the City Ground.
The full United travelling squad, as per the Manchester Evening News, can be read in full below.
