Rúben Amorim has chosen to select Matheus Cunha at left-wing as Manchester United line up to face West Ham on Thursday evening.
Manchester United’s recent rise in form was reflected in their 2–1 comeback win against Crystal Palace. A poor first-half display left Rúben Amorim’s side behind at the break, but moments of inspiration from Joshua Zirkzee, Mason Mount, and Bruno Fernandes sealed a turnaround after the interval.
The result ended United’s long wait for a league victory in London against a side other than Fulham, with their last such success coming back in January 2022. Focus now switches to Old Trafford, as West Ham make the trip north on Thursday evening.
United continue to aim upward toward the Champions League spots, while West Ham are facing a fight for survival at the other end of the table. Leeds United’s 3–1 win over Chelsea moved them up to 17th place, pushing the Hammers into the relegation zone heading into this clash.
Amorim will be hoping the confidence drawn from the Palace victory can put the Everton setback firmly behind them and spark a positive run of results as the busy festive schedule gets underway.
