Manchester United are reportedly ‘confident’ of completing a surprise signing this summer, with a final decision said to be ‘imminent’.

The Reds have completed two signings so far this summer. Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro have both joined the club as young talents with plenty of potential.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team are clearly in favour of building a young squad, and it seems like they are set to sign another extremely talented teenager.

Chido Obi Martin, one of the most exciting talents in the country, failed to agree on a scholarship deal with Arsenal and is now looking for his next destination.

Academy Scoop broke the story, revealing that Obi Martin had visited Carrington to discuss a move to Manchester United this summer.

Renowned journalists David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano further reported on the situation, with reports elsewhere claiming that United are hopeful of completing a deal for the 16-year-old.

Obi Martin showcased his talent last season by scoring 32 goals for Arsenal U18s in just 18 games. His impressive performance included six hat-tricks and a remarkable seven-goal haul in a single game against Norwich.

Academy Scoop has since provided an update on the situation, stating that United are now confident the an agreement can be found with the talented striker.

It was added that a final decision from the player is imminent and that the Dane has told those close to him that his preference is to join the Old Trafford club.

United currently have Rasmus Højlund and new signing Zirkzee as attacking options through the middle in Erik ten Hag’s first-team.

However, the renowned youth development and trust shown at Old Trafford would’ve certainly been an appeal to Obi Martin.
