Manchester United change stance on key player amid concrete interest, a loan exit is now possible

Manchester United are now said to be open to loaning out one of their key players ahead of next season, with interest from the Serie A now said to be getting stronger.

Manchester United were finding it difficult to find permanent buyers for some of the players they wanted to offload, with Marcus Rashford’s transfer to Barcelona on loan yesterday showcasing a huge example of that.

The battle for the club to sell unwanted players is more difficult than at most clubs due to the previous wage bills given to them under the last regime. INEOS are now having to pick up the scraps, which is making for a difficult window in regard to outgoings.

A situation like this makes it difficult for Ruben Amorim, who is desperate to strengthen his squad. Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha have been added to the squad, but there remains a feeling a couple more players are needed for United to get to the next level.

Some would say a striker is one of those problems, and it looks like they could be set to offload one of their current key strikers, with a stance change in recent days prompting renewed interest.

United open to Hojlund loan

United are open to a loan deal for Rasmus Hojlund, according to reports in Italy, with Juventus and AC Milan both circling for the Danish forward in recent days. Inter Milan has also been very interested in the player for most of the window.

The report comes from CalcioMercato, who believe Hojlund is on his way out of United this summer. Juventus have been interested for some time, but AC Milan have made their interest known in recent days too.

Hojlund signed for £72m back in 2023, but has failed to showcase his true talents in a red shirt despite a really promising first season. Despite that, there remains a feeling it would be best for the striker to leave the club.

United have made their interest in Nicolas Jackson known in recent days, while Benjamin Sesko has also been someone linked with a move to Old Trafford in the last few days.

Hojlund move may be best

If United are indeed going to sign a new striker, a move away for Hojlund may be the best course of action.

The forward is a very talented player but hasn’t been able to show that as of late. A trip to Italy to regenerate his career could be ideal for all parties.

Nicolas Jackson would be a very good signing for United and could potentially solve an Alejandro Garnacho-shaped issue too if they can manage to sort out a swap deal for the two players. A situation like that could help PSR hugely.

Hojlund became a highly rated striker in the Serie A with Atalanta, and a move back to a more suitable league could really help kick-start his career.
