Manchester United blasted by Premier League legend after Crystal Palace loss
Manchester United failed to score as Crystal Palace left Old Trafford with a 1-0 Premier League victory on Saturday afternoon.
Manchester United have now lost four of their opening seven Premier League fixtures in the 2023/24 season, making it their worst-ever start in the competition.
The Crystal Palace result showed so clearly the problems that Erik ten Hag‘s squad have had in front of goal, with the squad sometimes completely unable to find the back of the next against, on paper, poorer sides.

Against Palace, The Reds had an xG of 1.67 compared to the Eagles’ 0.81. yet came away as the losing team once again – and former Premier League striker Alan Shearer has blasted United’s attack accordingly.
“Manchester United were very poor in front of goal, albeit having to come up against a rock of a defence in Crystal Palace,” Shearer told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Roy Hodgson set his team up to frustrate, and Guehi and Andersen in particular were absolutely outstanding at the back.
“No way through them, defended deep and hit on the counter when they got the opportunity
“A lot of talk will be about Man United, about them not creating well and playing well enough, but Palace deserve all the credit, their defensive display stopped the home side from playing.”
