Manchester United have learnt the price tag for a former Premier League winger, as the club looks to strengthen their front line in the summer.
Manchester United invested significant sums of money last summer to sign Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Šeško.
Unlike last year when United rejected the chance to sign Carlos Baleba, the priority in the coming summer transfer window will be the midfield as the club looks to replace the outgoing Casemiro.
Despite having spent roughly £200 million on the attack last summer, United could look to add further depth to that area of the pitch if sufficient funds are available after addressing the issues in midfield.
United explored a deal to sign Antoine Semenyo in January and were prepared to activate his £65 million release clause, but the winger instead opted to move to Manchester City. This does prove, however, that there is an appetite at Old Trafford to strengthen the attack.
United interested in Pulisic
According to Caught Offside, Manchester United view Christian Pulisic as a “serious” candidate to strengthen their attack this summer.
AC Milan are preparing for a major overhaul of their squad this summer, and the funds from the potential sale of Pulisic would provide the Rosseniri the financial flexibility they want as they look to strengthen their squad.
The report claims that Milan would be open to listening to offers somewhere in the region of £60-70 million. This would mean a profit of at least £40 million, given the fact Milan signed Pulisic for a base fee of around £17 million two-and-a-half years ago.
Pulisic is also attracting interest from London, with Caught Offside reporting that both Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on the 27-year-old.
Pulisic is not what United need
Pulisic has done very well at Milan, scoring 42 goals and registering 22 assists in all competitions so far after two-and-a-half seasons in Italy. However, he is not what Manchester United need.

Pulisic has been used as the left striker in a 3-5-2 under Massimiliano Allegri this season, but he has predominantly played as a right-winger throughout his career, and Manchester United already have two outstanding players in that position in Amad and Mbeumo.
United need a left-winger, and ideally a player who can hold the width and make runs in behind. A lot of United’s forwards like to operate in more central areas, and Mbeumo is the only one who can reliably make runs in behind. The rest all prefer operating between the lines and receiving the ball into their feet.
Semenyo would’ve been the ideal addition given his skillset and versatility. United have been strongly linked to RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande since missing out on Semenyo; however, it is unclear how realistic a possible deal would be, with Leipzig expected to demand a significant fee for the winger.
