Man Utd’s move for “so good” star has come to ‘permanent end’ as talks break down over specific clause

Manchester United have pulled out of contention for a wanted Brazilian star as Rúben Amorim looks for reinforcements in January.

Ruben Amorim and his side will be looking forward to the January transfer window, as the Reds aim to bolster an already improved squad.

Players like Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo have had a great start at the club, and after signing for huge fees, the club hopes to develop these players to the best of their ability.

The Red’s frontline also lost a few key members last transfer window, with Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund leaving on loan with an option to buy, and Antony and Alejandro Garnacho leaving permanently.

The Manchester United board has shown interest in some of Europe’s top players, as they push to get back in contention for European football.

One particular La Liga star was on the cards, but the sags seem to have hit a wall as the Reds want to spend that money on a long-term asset, rather than developing another club’s player on loan.

Real Madrid to offload Endrick on loan

Spanish giants Real Madrid have listed wonderkid Endrick for a short-term loan, as his path to the first team under Xabi Alonso has been harder than once thought.

A player of Endrick’s reputation and “so good” ability leaves him with prestigious conditions for his next club, and therefore narrows the pool of clubs Endrick would consider.

Endrick and his camp have emphasised that the Brazilian must get minutes for a top-tier club if he hopes to make the Brazil squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup under Ancelotti.

That said, many top-level European clubs had reported interest in the 19-year-old Brazilian, including United. Some reports suggest that he will sign for Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais in January.

Endrick’s potential deal with Manchester has been halted, as Madrid’s terms do not align with the Red’s, leaving Amorim’s side to explore moves elsewhere.

United reportedly wanted an option-to-buy in the loan contract for Endrick, to ensure the investment is not wasted when he returns to Madrid. Florentino Perez’s terms differ in this way, as he would like to keep hold of Endrick for the future.

United will not be signing Real Madrid’s Endrick

Manchester United are reportedly in the market for a back-up striker to play second-string to Sesko, as the future of Joshua Zirkzee is uncertain.

TEAMtalk spoke with Dean Jones about the saga, who said, “I don’t think United will do a loan deal for any forward ideally, but if they did then it would be a player at the other end of their career in comparison to Endrick.”

Jones hints at the idea of signing a veteran striker with a reputable record in front of goal. This would provide Amorim with another goal-scoring option.

Jones also commented, “We will have to see if Joshua Zirkzee manages to engineer a way out of the club. If he does, then they can start to think about the idea of adding a back-up No.9. But it will not be Endrick.”

That said, expect a shake-up in the Red’s attack next transfer window, with the possible departure of Zirkzee and the signing of yet another attacker.
