Manchester United XI vs Leicester City: Alejandro Garnacho dropped as three changes expected
Ruud van Nistelrooy is expected to drop Alejandro Garnacho as Manchester United prepare to face Leicester City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to take charge of his fourth match as Manchester United’s interim manager when they face Leicester City in the Premier League.
In the wake of Erik ten Hag’s dismissal two weeks ago, United have begun to steady the ship. They registered a 5-2 win against Leicester in the Carabao Cup, drew 1-1 with Chelsea in the league, and secured a 2-0 victory over PAOK in the Europa League.

With Rúben Amorim slated to assume the managerial role on Monday, 11 November, van Nistelrooy will aim to end his brief stint on a high note by securing a crucial league win against Leicester on Sunday.
United currently occupy 13th place in the league, with a goal difference of -3, having scored nine goals while conceding 12 in their first ten matches.
Three changes expected
Van Nistelrooy is expected to make three changes to the side that defeated PAOK, although André Onana will remain in goal for the forthcoming tie.
Although Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are now back in training, neither player has been deemed fit to play, so Diogo Dalot is likely to start at right-back while Noussair Mazraoui plays on the left flank, as the Dutchman has been selected in recent matches.
Lisandro Martínez and Matthijs de Lgit are expected to return to the XI, replacing Victor Lindelöf and Jonny Evans. Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro remain injured, although the latter is back in team training.
In midfield, despite Mason Mount and Christian Eriksen’s returns to training and the pitch, it’s unlikely that either will start.
Bruno Fernandes, Manuel Ugarte, and Casemiro have developed a good understanding on the pitch of late, and the former has been involved in four of the eight goals scored under Van Nistelrooy, so will start as the attacking midfielder ahead of the South American pair.
Alejandro Garnacho is expected to be dropped in attack as Marcus Rashford is reinstated to the XI. The Argentina international has received criticism for attacking performances in recent weeks, and although Van Nistelrooy no doubt trusts him, he may find himself on the bench.
There is a slight doubt over Amad Diallo’s fitness following his stellar performance against PAOK, but Van Nistelrooy explained on Thursday that he is hopeful the Ivorian international will be able to play.
Rasmus Højlund will likely continue as the team’s first-choice striker as he searches for his second Premier League goal of the season following a fantastic chipped finish against Brentford last month.
Man United expected XI
Onana, Dalot, De Ligt, Martínez, Mazraoui, Ugarte, Casemiro, Fernandes, Amad, Højlund, Rashford.
