Premier League confirm West Ham vs Man United referee as controversial red card decision resurfaces
The Premier League have confirmed the match official for West Ham vs Manchester United as a controversial red card decision resurfaces.
Manchester United are gearing up for a return to Premier League action as they travel to face West Ham in the English domestic competition.
Despite their 2-1 win over Brentford last time out in the competition, the club remains 12th in the league table, and pressure continues to pile on Erik ten Hag.

The side are coming off a 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce away from home in the Europa League. They have just two days of rest before they kick off against West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
The West Ham tie will mark Ten Hag’s ninth league game of the season, with the side having won just three, losing three and drawing two so far in the competition.
Confirmed officials
David Coote (pictured below) will referee on Sunday afternoon in East London. Coote has officiated six domestic matches this season, including four in the Premier League, one in the Championship, and one in the Carabao Cup.
Coote has already met United, having refereed their 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace earlier this season. In this tie, Lisandro Martínez was controversially not shown a red card following a two-footed challenge on the edge of the Palace penalty area.
So far, Coote has issued 22 yellow cards in the Premier League this season but no reds. He has also awarded one penalty across all competitions in the Carabao Cup clash between Grimsby Town and Bradford.
Dan Robathan and Craig Taylor will be on the sidelines as Coote’s assistant referees during the game. Tom Bramall has been handed the fourth official job, separating Ten Hag and Julen Lopetegui on Sunday afternoon.
Michael Oliver has been appointed as the Video Assistant Referee. Stuart Burt will act as assistant VAR.
