Xavi Simons admits his future is ‘open’ as teammate makes Manchester United transfer decision
Xavi Simons has admitted that his future is currently undecided as the Dutch midfielder continues to be linked with Manchester United.
Manchester United are looking to recruit a new midfielder this summer following a season under Erik ten Hag where gaps in that area of the pitch became evident.
All evidence points towards Casemiro leaving this summer, while those such as Scott McTominay are up for sale at tehr right price, too.

Meanwhile, the club have been scouting potential summer targets, such as PSG midfielder Xavi Simons, who has started for the Netherlands during the 2024 European Championships so far. Simons scored in their last fixture against France, but the goal was ruled out for offside, and the tie ended 0-0.
“I was happy in Paris. Things have happened,” Simons admitted to the media following the Netherlands’ draw. “I was in Leipzig this year, we’ll see after the Euro. I also see that the supporters always wish me the best, and that’s good.”
Meanwhile, his national teammate Joshua Zirkzee has decided to delay any move regarding his future until after the Championships are over.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Zirkzee has informed those around him that, despite significant interest from United and AC Milan, he will not choose where he will leave Bologna until after the 2024 Euros have been concluded.
United have been credited with significant moves, with some claiming that they plan to activate the £34 million release clause in his contract while also maintaining a good relationship with his agent, Kia Joorabchian.
Joorabchian is said to be demanding as much as £12 million in agent fees to facilitate the move but is willing to offer United a discount. Whether the transfer materialises will depend on when the Netherlands are out of Germany and if Joorabchian is reasonable with his respective demands.
