Manchester United hit with £36m transfer blow, Sir Jim Ratcliffe accepts loss
Manchester United have been hit with a £36 million pound transfer loss as Sir Jim Ratcliffe seemingly accepts a failed move.
INEOS are looking to offload as many fringe and outcast players as possible this summer with Manchester United needing to raise significant funds in the 2024 summer market.
Those such as Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho are almost certainties to leave this summer following their respective exiles from the club last season, and other names, such as Scott McTominay and Victor Lindelöf could also follow them out the door.

However, there are also a number of other names that have very much been lost to the squad which are also set to generate transfer funds, and news from Saturday afternoon has broken surrounding Donny van de Beek.
According to Spanish outlet Relevo, the former Dutch international is set to sign for La Liga club Girona this summer.
The report states that the player who United signed for around £37 million from Ajax in 2020 will not depart Old Trafford for under £500,000, resulting in Sir Jim Ratclife’s team accepting a loss of over £36 million.
However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that this fee could rise up to £4 million depending on appearances this season and other potential achievements.
Van de Beek’s career at United has been a failure, with the player never properly cemeting his place in the team. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjær he was ousted by Bruno Fernandes, and a series of injuries and failed loans ever since meant he was unable to kick off his career.
Originally a brilliant player under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, some thought that the Dutch manager’s arrival at United would hand Van de Beek a boost, but it was not to be.
We wish Donny all the best on his next adventure.
