Alejandro Garnacho and Darwin Nunez send message as Man United winger linked with move
Alejandro Garnacho and Darwin Nunez have both sent heartwarming messages to Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri following his first international goal.
Facundo Pellistri‘s career at Manchester United has been a series of stops and starts, with Erik ten Hag never fully embracing the player.
United signed Pellistri from Uruguayan club Peñarol in 2020 for an estimated £7 million, hoping he would develop into a first-team winger over the next few seasons.

However, Alejandro Garnacho has more successfully followed this career trajectory and is now being taken up by Amad Diallo, leaving little room for Pellistri in the starting XI. Consequently, Pellistri has gone out on multiple loans to La Liga, joining Alaves twice and, most recently, Granada in the January 2024 transfer window.
Pellistri’s good fortunes in first-team football have more often than not come as part of the Uruguay international set-up. He made his debut for them before his first start for United and was an integral part of their 2022 World Cup squad.
After receiving a call-up for the upcoming Copa America tournament, Pellistri notched his first goal for Uruguay during a 4-0 riot over Mexico on Thursday. Darwin Nunez also bagged a hattrick, with Pellstri assisting his third.
Following this, Nunez and Pellistri’s club compatriot Garnacho sent Pellistr heartwarming messages, with Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde also joining in on the praise.
Pellistri has recently been linked with a move away from United towards the Turkish Süper Lig, with Beşiktaş J.K. reportedly showing an interest in signing him during the upcoming transfer window.
It is said that Beşiktaş are in the market for a young winger, and Pellistri is one of the names they are assessing ahead of the summer window. They have ‘put in an inquiry to United’ to see what the conditions would be for a transfer this summer.
Although it is not stated if this would be a permanent transfer or loan deal, the nature of the report suggests it would be a full transfer.
