Transfers
Manchester United have already attempted TWO transfer hijacks this summer, both failed
Manchester United have made two last-minute offers for transfers this summer but have failed to sway heads on either occasion.
Manchester United must make multiple signings this summer, and INEOS are currently assessing just how many new players are needed to repair the holes in Erik ten Hag‘s squad.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already admitted that it will take several seasons and transfer windows for the club to reach the levels all fans desire.

“We’re in the middle of that transfer period,” Ratcliffe said this week. “We’re doing what every other club is doing, which is looking at which are the holes in our squad, and where we want the holes, and what are the possibilities out there in the market for us.
“I’m not confident that we’ll solve all the problems in the first transfer window, no,” he said. “It will take time.”
United’s most significant move so far this window has been a £35 million bid for Jarrad Branthwaite, which included a further £8 million in achievable add-ons, although the exact nature of these add-ons is unclear.
However, Everton swiftly rejected this bid as they felt they had a chance of fetching as much as £70 million for the English centre-back. There have been suggestions that United will move on from Branthwaite if a compromise isn’t reached.
However, this is not the only move they have made in this window. A report from the Daily Mail a few weeks ago confirmed that United made a last-ditch attempt to recruit Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo moments before he chose to sign for Chelsea.
It was said that United’s attempt was “too late” as talks between the player and Chelsea had become too advanced, having agreed on a contract and set to have his medical. However, this is not the only last-minute attempt United have made already this summer.
Multiple reports have confirmed that Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise is joining Bayern Munich this summer. The two clubs have agreed on an overall £50 million package.
United had initially chosen Olise as a top target this summer, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe himself a big fan of the 22-year-old Frenchman. If a report from The Mirror is to be believed, United also made a late attempt to swoop for him.
According to the report, both United and Manchester City attempted “extraordinary” late offers to sign Olise next summer, although these ultimately failed, much like the attempted move for Adarabioyo.
