Manchester United target hands club personal transfer boost, move will be easy
Manchester United have been handed a transfer boost by one of their targets this summer as INEOS look to improve Erik ten Hag’s squad.
After a disappointing 2023/24 season that left Erik ten Hag‘s squad with glaring deficiencies in midfield, Manchester United are actively seeking reinforcements in that area. Sofyan Amrabat and Casemiro struggled, leading to the team conceding over 80 goals across all competitions.
Casemiro is likely to be sold, and Scott McTominay might also depart, prompting the club to explore various options. Among the potential targets, Everton’s Amadou Onana has been strongly linked with Old Trafford.

UtdDistrict have previously been told that United’s scouting department are particularly impressed with Onana, whose standout performances at the 2024 European Championships drew attention despite Belgium’s poor results.
However, according to the latest reports, Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain are now the frontrunners for Onana’s signature, diminishing United’s chances of securing the midfielder.
With this in mind, links between United and PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte have heightened in the last week, and the Uruguayan international has handed United a personal transfer boost.
According to Uruguay Fichajes, Manchester United is seen by his representatives as “an ideal destination” for the 23-year-old. Further, the player himself would love to play at Old Trafford and is, therefore, keen on the move.
His current employers will listen to overs for him despite spending £51 million on the player from Sporting CP last summer. It is said to be “90% likely” that Ugarte will leave France this summer.
All this adds up to the conclusion that a transfer for the player should be easy. PSG are willing to sell, the player wants to join, and his representatives are keen to get the move over the line.
However, whether or not a deal is struck remains to be seen, as PSG will no doubt be keen to recoup as much as possible of the £51 they committed in 2023.
