Manchester United target looking for “immediate” Old Trafford transfer following Leny Yoro’s deal

Manchester United now have another target desperate to join Old Trafford following their signing of Leny Yoro from Lille.

After a 2023/24 season where they conceded over eighty goals across all competitions and finished eighth in the Premier League, Erik ten Hag and his team have been actively seeking centre-back reinforcements.

Manchester United made a decisive move for highly-rated 18-year-old defender Leny Yoro, who had been on the verge of joining Real Madrid.

On Wednesday morning, breaking news confirmed that United had convinced Yoro to fly to Manchester for his medical and to agree to a five-year contract until 2029, with an option for an additional year.

Yoro completed his medical and signed the contract papers for his £52 million transfer on Thursday afternoon, and the club confirmed his full transfer on Thursday evening.

With this in mind, United wasted no time in moving on to more signings. According to Fabrizio Romano, they have now agreed on personal terms with Paris St. Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

Further, Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Ugarte wants to join “immediately” and has given the green light to sign for the Red Devils this summer.

Romano explained that club-to-club talks are ongoing between United and the Ligue 1 outfit, with Ugarte deemed surplus to requirements by manager Luis Enrique.

It is also stated that United are not the only clubs interested in the 23-year-old, although the other clubs are not named.

Ugarte is said to be happy to move to United despite their lack of Champions League football. He is also represented by Jorge Mendes, the same agent as Yoro.
