Agent now “moving pawns” to secure Manchester United star a January loan as ideal destination named
Joshua Zirkzee’s agent is said to be organising the potential loan of his client from Manchester United this summer as the favoured move is named.
Joshua Zirkzee‘s start at Manchester United has been underwhelming since his £36 million summer move from Bologna.
The Dutch forward was brought in to compete with Rasmus Højlund under former boss Erik ten Hag, and his debut goal against Fulham hinted at promise. But since then, Zirkzee has failed to find the net, struggling to make a consistent impact.

A forward who prefers to drop deep and link play rather than staying close to the centre-backs, Zirkzee offers a unique style. However, this has yet to pay off for United.
In 17 appearances, Zirkzee has managed just one goal and two assists, prompting reports of interest from other clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
A January loan
According to Calciomercato, Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, is “moving his pawns behind the scenes” as he looks to secure a potential loan exit for his client in January.
The report states that Joorabchian remains close with Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and as Zirkzee’s former Bologna manager and mentor Thiago Motta is now the Old Lady’s boss, Turin is seen as the ideal destination for him.
Zirkzee is thought to be “very disappointed” with his start to life at United. The report notes that “leaving Manchester would mean giving up without a fight, but certain feelings do not bode well.”
It is also stated that Zirkzee would be the best possible option in the summer market as current striker Dušan Vlahović is “on the edge”—although it’s not specified quite what Vlahović is actually on the edge of.
Man United’s view
However, United are said to be hoping that new head coach Rúben Amorim can “change the music” of Zirkzee’s Old Trafford career so far.
United are looking at Amorim’s transformation of Viktor Gyökeres while at Sporting as an example of how the 39-year-old can coax the best out of the players he has.
Beyond this, the fact United invested around £36.5 million into Zirkzee makes it even further unlikely that they would give up on the player within months of his arrival.
Amorim is reportedly keen to give Zirkzee a chance alongside the rest of his squad. The Netherlands striker will return to United in the coming days following his international exploits.
