According to reports, Discussions surrounding Jadon Sancho’s £40 million move from Manchester United this summer have started.

Manchester United launched the 2024 transfer window with significant moves, acquiring Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and securing Leny Yoro from Lille, snatching him from under Real Madrid’s nose.

These acquisitions, totalling £88 million, mean the club must now sell players to balance their finances. Mason Greenwood, Willy Kambwala, and Alvaro Fernandez have already left Erik ten Hag’s squad.

United’s focus has shifted to further bolstering their roster, targeting a midfielder, right-back, and centre-back. One man who could be moving on to fund this is 24-year-old winger Jadon Sancho, who United are said to be demanding around £40 million for.

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Ligue 1 side Paris St. Germain have held initial talks with Manchester United over the signing of Jadon Sancho.

The two clubs have discussed the conditions of a potential deal, and it is further stated that Sancho could be open to the move and that personal terms are not expected to be a problem.

As the two clubs have already previously engaged in dialogue surrounding Manuel Ugarte, an open line of communication between the two European giants has already been established.

This comes after Fabrizio Romano revealed that Juventus had completely dropped out of the race to sign Sancho.

“Juventus were among the clubs really interested in Jadon Sancho, they are no longer in the race, they are looking at different options,” Romano said on Monday. “Borussia Dortmund consider this deal too expensive.”

“PSG have an interest, yes they spoke to the agents of the player, they never reached out to Manchester United to make a proposal or open a negotiation.”

Further, Romano explained that while no offer has yet been made for Sancho, the situation is “still open,” and he could well leave before the end of the month when the window closes.

He said: “I think the situation of Sancho is still open. Now it is different, the player is integrated into the group, they want an important proposal to let Sancho go. I think it’s still something around £40 to £45 million in that region. It depends on the opportunity.”

Sancho has been starting the last few pre-season games as a striker due to Rasmus Højlund’s absence, but he may well start as the centre-forward against Manchester City on Saturday at Wembley Stadium as part of the Community Shield.
