Manchester United scouts watch “sensational” ex-Man City starlet, experts say he’s ‘unbelievable’
Manchester United reportedly sent scouts to watch “sensational” Bundesliga star Felix Nmecha during a 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich last weekend.
Rúben Amorim is beginning to shape his Manchester United side, with the 39-year-old steadily evaluating his squad.
Weeks of training have helped the players adjust to Amorim’s 3-4-3 system, while he gains a deeper understanding of their strengths and areas that need improvement.

United are also setting their sights on 2025 transfer plans, with the summer window taking priority due to a constrained January budget.
While Amorim has significant input on identifying the squad’s needs, sporting director Dan Ashworth and director of recruitment Christopher Vivell are leading the charge in executing the club’s recruitment strategy.
United monitoring Nmecha
As revealed two weeks ago by UtdDistrict, Amorim wants to sign new midfielders this summer, both for the No. 10 role and to occupy the deeper area in front of this back three.
According to the German outlet Bild, the club sent scouts to watch Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha during the Bundesliga side’s 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich last weekend.
The German international left Manchester City and their academy in 2021 to sign for VfL Wolfsburg before departing to Dortmund in 2023, where he failed to impress during his first season.
However, his rise since then has been meteoric, with Bild describing his development as “sensational”, hence the interest from United, Newcastle United, and Chelsea.
Further, Bild report that German football experts find his development rate ‘unbelievable’. He has played 18 times for Dortmund in all competitions this season.
In terms of a transfer fee, Bild explain that, as Dortmund paid around £25 million to sign him two seasons ago, it would take an “immoral sum of money” from any club to secure him from the Bundesliga side in 2025.
