Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly demanded that Manchester United sell two more players once Marcus Rashford departs the club in January.

Marcus Rashford is set to leave Manchester United in 2025 after a revealing interview in which the 27-year-old expressed his desire for a new challenge.

A once-dominant figure in United’s attack, Rashford enjoyed his peak in the 2022/23 season with a stunning 30-goal tally under Erik ten Hag. However, his influence has since waned, and under Rúben Amorim, he has struggled for opportunities.

With Amad and Bruno Fernandes now regulars in the attacking lineup, Rashford has been sidelined, failing to make an appearance in United’s last six games.

Rashford’s journey at United spans nearly 20 years, beginning with his remarkable debut as an 18-year-old. He announced himself with two goals against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League and followed it up with another brace days later against Arsenal in the Premier League.

Reports suggest United are considering a loan move for Rashford in January, with a permanent transfer expected in the summer. His departure now feels inevitable, closing the chapter on his illustrious Old Trafford career as he prepares for a new challenge elsewhere.

Ratcliffe demands two transfer after Rashford’s exit

With Rashford’s representatives reportedly in talks with AC Milan, Barcelona, and other clubs around Europe, United are also focusing on other sales in order to lower their wage bills.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is thinking one step ahead and also wants Brazilian duo Antony and Casemiro both out of the club in January.

Casemiro is said to earn around £350,000 a week at the club, while Antony earns around £200,000 a week, both before tax, and Ratcliffe is reportedly keen to get both off the wage books before the end of the month.

Combined, Rashford, Casemiro, and Antony earn just shy of £900,000 a week, and having all three depart the club this month will help the club stave off profit and sustainability regulation problems.

Ratcliffe needs to bring in replacements

However, should the club offload all three players, Ratcliffe will need to make sure he is still able to supply Amorim with the players he needs to end the second half of the season on a strong note.

Although Antony and Casemiro are considered fringe players, and Rashford has not been involved in the side’s last six results, it’s still important that the head coach has players who can at least provide back-up and support to the squad.

To replace Casemiro, there is the option of handing an upgraded role to Academy midfielder Toby Collyer, but should both Rashford and Antony leave, Amorim will be left with very thin options in the front line.

United have been closely linked with PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani recently, with reports stating that United are considering a loan move with the option to buy the French international in the summer.
