Manchester United “contemplating” £40m bid for the Premier League’s “hottest property”, Rúben Amorim loves him
According to a new report, Manchester United are contemplating a bid for one of the Premier League’s “hottest” commodities, with Rúben Amorim a big admirer of the star.
Manchester United are looking for reinforcements to bolster their current attacking options amid goal-scoring issues with Rúben Amorim’s front line.
United have failed to impress in front of goal this season, with the team rarely scoring more than one goal past their opponents and a particular poor track record at Old Trafford.
With the futures of those such as Joshua Zirkzee, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho seemingly up in the air following the latest transfer reports, United will be looking to add firepower to the attack this summer.
The current budgets at Old Trafford have seen the club stretched thin in, but there is little doubt that Amorim will pressure United’s board to secure him fresh talent across his front line.
United contemplating £40 million Mbeumo bid
Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has been on fire in the Premier League this season, playing a large part in their continued success under Thomas Frank that leave them mid-table in the competition.
Described as one of the “hottest properties” in the league this season, the 25-year-old is set to become a highly sought-after player once the 2025 summer transfer window gets under way.
According to the Daily Star, United are now considering making a £40 million bid in the summer to lure the Cameroon international to Old Trafford and become part of Amorim’s rebuild of United.
However, it’s also warned that both Arsenal and Liverpool are circling the talented and versatile attacker, with other reports stating the latter seeing him as a potential replacement for Mohammed Salah.
Bees’ boss Thomas Frank has dismissed any notion that Mbeumo could leave the London-based club this January, but United are willing to wait until the summer before launching their efforts.
Amorim is an admirer of Mbeumo
Further, the Daily Star report states that Amorim himself is an admirer of Mbeumo and belivese he would fit into the long-term plans of the club.
The 39-year-old is said to value the player’s versatility across the front three and is keeping personal tabs on the player as the season continues.
Amorim is also reportedly a fan of the player’s work ethic. Being able to perform in the Premier League while playing for a non-big-six side requires players to be switched on in both an attacking and defensive mindset.
The player currently earns around £45,000 a week at Brentford, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in 23 games across the Premier League and Carabao Cup this season.
