Manchester United receive bid for Antony, players’ response is immediate
Manchester United have reportedly received a bid for Brazilian winger Antony, but the winger’s response has been immediate.
Antony‘s career at Manchester United has not lived up to the high expectations set when he signed with the club in 2022. Reuniting with Erik ten Hag that summer, the Dutch manager’s first at Old Trafford, Antony arrived for a substantial fee of around £85 million towards the end of the transfer window.
Despite initial criticism over the price tag, he made a strong start, scoring against Arsenal, Everton, and Manchester City.

However, Antony’s form soon declined as defenders adapted to his tendency to favour his left foot. This, combined with impressive performances from Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo, saw the 24-year-old lose his place in the team.
Rumours have emerged suggesting that Manchester United might allow Antony to leave on loan this summer, provided the borrowing club covers his wages, but now it seems as if United have received a bid for the player.
According to the Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun, United have received a bid from Besiktas for Antony, although the specific figure is not named.
However, the report also details that while United want to sell the player, Antony has seemingly responded through the notion that he does not want to be transferred out of Old Trafford.
Antony wants to stay at United and fight for his place under Ten Hag, which is something that his agent, Junior Pedroso, relayed in an exclusive interview with Fabrizio Romano.
“The plan of Antony is to stay at Manchester United. We are not planning for anything else,” Pedroso explained.
“We also had a contact with Manchester United, and we already discussed about that.”
