Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been offered a four-year contract as a move away from Manchester United is reportedly “nearing completion”.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka joined Manchester United in the summer of 2019 from Crystal Palace for a reported fee of £50 million. He quickly established himself as a reliable right-back under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, distinctive for his exceptional tackling ability and defensive prowess.

Wan-Bissaka’s performances throughout his career have been characterised by his one-on-one defensive skills, often neutralising the threat of opposing wingers such as Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling, earning the nickname “The Spider” for his long legs and tackling reach.

Despite his defensive strengths, Wan-Bissaka has often been criticized for his lack of offensive contributions at United. So far, he has scored two goals and provided 13 assists in 190 appearances for the Old Trafford side.

As the modern game increasingly demands full-backs to be effective in attack, his crossing and overall attacking play have been scrutinized. Comparisons with other right-backs in the league, such as Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Chelsea’s Reece James, often highlight a gap in attacking output.

In the last few seasons, Wan-Bissaka has found himself playing a deputy role to Portuguese right-back Diogo Dalot, who has established himself as one of Erik ten Hag’s most trustworthy stars, often acting as a lieutenant to captain Bruno Fernandes.

With this in mind, Wan-Bissaka is thought to be for sale this summer as the club look to raise funds, and a new report from Turkey has revealed that his transfer away from Old Trafford is seemingly close.

According to Bein Sports Turkey, Galatasaray have made good progress on a deal for the English right-back, with a deal “nearing completion”.

It is thought that he has been offered a four-year contract and is keen on making the switch from Manchester to Istanbul this summer.

Although no fee has been mentioned, other reports have said that Manchester United are holding out for over £17 million, with Gala eyeing Wan-Bissaka as their number-one right-back target.

Wan-Bissaka has one year left on his contract after Manchester United activated an automatic extension back in January of this year.
