Manchester United starlet has ‘caught Ruben Amorim’s eye’ during pre-season training and is now drawing interest from Belgian side Club Brugge.
With Manchester United now heading on their pre-season tour in the United States, one of their talented teens has caught the eye of Ruben Amorim.
The Red Devils have made slow progress in the transfer window ahead of the new Premier League campaign, which has presented a few of the youngsters with the opportunity to make an impression during their pre-season training.
One of the starlets who has made an impression is 19-year-old winger Ethan Williams, who is fresh off the back of a loan at Cheltenham Town.
Williams scored two and assisted two in League two last season for Cheltenham, and has since returned to Carrington.
Williams catches the eye
The 2005-born attacker has ‘caught Amorim’s eye and is travelling with the squad’ for United’s pre-season tour of the States, according to Alex Crook on X via SimplyUtd.
However, it is understood by Ben Jacobs on X that the youngster has also drawn interest from two Belgian sides in Anderlecht and Club Brugge.
Williams has one year left on his United contract, with several clubs being impressed by his loan at Cheltenham.
It is also stated that the left winger’s future is open, especially given the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
United’s winger conundrum
With it looking likely that Williams could depart despite impressing Amorim, that could potentially be five wingers heading towards the Old Trafford exit this summer.
Marcus Rashford has already gone out on loan, whilst Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho all wait patiently for their sales to come to fruition.
It was obvious that United needed to change things up in their forward line, with sales a necessity, but could they end up being left light?
Especially regarding the left wing, although Williams likely wouldn’t have been a feature next season, United will have to be careful not to leave their squad too thin in certain areas.
