Manchester United are set for a summer clear out as Ruben Amorim looks to shape his squad ahead of his first full season in charge. One want-away player has now reportedly said yes to a move to Saudi Arabia
Manchester United’s summer transfer window is far from over, as Ruben Amorim continues to shape his new squad ahead of his first full season in charge of the club.
United still have major targets they are chasing, including an experienced centre forward, a goalkeeper to either rival or replace André Onana, and also a defensive midfielder.
With the club’s £127.5 million spend on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to transform the front line, United now have to shift their focus to selling key players in order to raise the money to fund further moves.
Al-Nassr have reportedly made contact with United over a potential move for a want-away player after Amorim made it clear that he wasn’t in his plans for next season.
Antony linked with a move to Saudi Arabia
After signing João Félix for £43.7 million, Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr are also plotting a move for Antony following a successful loan at Real Betis.
As reported by TEAMtalk, Al-Nassr have made initial contact with United over a deal for the Brazilian winger, and have already submitted an initial proposal for the winger who is open to the move.
After enjoying somewhat of a career revival in Spain, Real Betis wanted to make his loan deal permanent, with United open to lowering their price in case of a return to LaLiga, but, now that Al-Nassr are in for a move, the asking price has gone back up.
United have reportedly informed the Saudi Arabian outfit that they won’t sell Antony for any less than £43.7 million. As of yet, there is no club-to-club agreement, but talks are set to continue in the coming days.
What Amorim had to say about Antony
Antony failed to live up to the expectations that came with his £85 million fee, and has been left out of United’s pre-season tour of the United States. Ahead of the 2026 World Cup however, the 25-year-old is happy to move to Saudi Arabia as long as guaranteed football is offered.
Antony joins a list of United players that Amorim is looking to move on, including Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and potentially Onana and Rasmus Højlund.
Despite publicly stating that these players need to be sold, Amorim has also hinted that he would be willing to give these players a second chance, as selling every want-away player is starting to look unrealistic as the final month of the transfer window gets closer.

“Some players have to find a new place to have more space in the team, and other players clearly show they want a new challenge and want new teams,” Amorim said in a recent interview.
“We are just allowing these players to have time to think and to decide. If we reach a point where they have to join the team, they will join the team, because they are our players.”
