One Manchester United star has been “transformed” after his “sensational” display on Thursday night, and Rúben Amorim has already said he loves to see it.
There is no hiding that this season has been anything but a success for Manchester United, with Rúben Amorim’s side currently sitting in 15th in the Premier League, with just three games to play.
However, several players have impressed this season, showing that they do have the ability to perform at the highest level, including some who aren’t at the club.
Marcus Rashford moved on loan in January to Aston Villa and started ahead of Ollie Watkins in the Champions League quarter-final clash against Paris St. Germain, with ten goal involvements in 17 appearances before a hamstring injury ruled him out for the season.
While it appears that the English forward won’t stay in Birmingham next season, United’s other loanee, Antony, could remain in Spain, with links saying that he wants to stay at Real Betis next season.
The Brazilian winger has impressed since his January move to Betis. He played a crucial role in reaching the Conference League final, scoring a beautiful free kick against David de Gea’s Fiorentina as part of a “sensational” performance on Thursday evening.
Antony has “transformed his career” says Keown
After Betis’ clash with Fiorentina, former Arsenal player Martin Keown discussed Antony’s impressive performance and his form since leaving Old Trafford.
“(He’s) transformed his career in a moment, the goals he scores – another two in this tie now to put them through,” Keown explained on TNT Sports.
When asked about his free kick, Keown said, “This is really classy, to take the confidence to do that and then execute as well, all the way it looks in.”He’s lost none of his confidence, has he?
“It will be interesting to see whether Antony can actually pop up again [in the final]. I think he will, he’s trying to make a name for himself, it wouldn’t surprise me if he notches, but Chelsea surely will have too much for them, the quality that they’ve got.”
Real Betis’ chief executive Ramón Alarcón recently told El Desmarque: “(Antony) has 20 days left with the team and is like one of the team members. We’ll see when the summer arrives if there’s an option to bring him in for another year.”
Amorim is happy for Antony and his form
Amorim was recently asked about United’s loanees Rashford and Antony, and if there is the potential for either of them to return to the club next summer.

When asked about Antony, the United manager said, “It’s a good thing. We see our players doing well on loan in a different context. That can happen and it’s a good sign for the club… We are really happy for our players that are on loan doing well.”
The Brazilian forward could become the first player to win both the Europa and Conference League in the same season, if United can defeat Tottenham Hotspur and Betis can take victory over Chelsea.
The former Sporting CP manager added his thoughts on Rashford, saying, “I know Rashford really well and everybody knows the talent that he has, so I already spoke about that. He’s a top player, if he wants. So I’m not surprised.”
