Man United ‘set to hand’ Scott McTominay new contract following INEOS intervention
Manchester United are set to hand Scott McTominay a new contract following his good form under Erik ten Hag, according to reports.
Scott McTominay has been on inspired overall form this season for Manchester United, with only Rasmus Højlund (13) having scored more goals than McTominay under Erik ten Hag (9) so far in the campaign.
McTominay’s role has evolved over the last few seasons, with the Scotland international transforming from a holding player to a box-crashing goalscorer. He has secured the Old Trafford club multiple Premier League points with late goals in the last six months.

Most recently, he opened the scoring during a 4-3 win over Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and is now set to be rewarded with a new deal.
This is according to the Daily Star, who claim that the player’s great form this season has convinced the higher-ups at the club to hand him a new contract.
After McTominay was deemed up for sale last summer, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have intervened and aim to secure the academy graduate on a longer contract and reward him with a pay rise.
It is said that McTominay’s new contract could see him earn up to £120,000-a-week, which would be doubling his current £60,000-a-week deal, which will stop potential transfer interest over the coming summer.
Scott McTominay’s current contract runs out in 2025, but the club have the option to extend this by a further year should they choose to do so – there is no rush to tie him down before the end of June, when he will enter into his final 12 months.
