Manchester United coaches expect three stars to reach “new levels” under Rúben Amorim
According to a new report, Manchester United coaches expect three stars to reach “new levels” under Rúben Amorim.
Rúben Amorim has officially started his tenure as Manchester United’s head coach, following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag last month.
Announced three weeks ago, Amorim’s appointment was delayed by a contractual issue involving his release clause at Sporting CP. With the matter now resolved, the 39-year-old has finally arrived to take charge.

During the interim, Ruud van Nistelrooy stepped in as caretaker manager, guiding United to three wins and a draw. While his efforts provided some stability, the team remains in 13th place in the Premier League and 15th in the Europa League.
Amorim has been overseeing his first training sessions this week, beginning what will undoubtedly be a challenging mission to turn the team’s fortunes around.
Three stars to reach “new levels”
With United’s players having undergone several days of training under Amorim, he has been assessing both the players he has access to at Carrington and those on international duty through video footage.
According to Sky Sports, Amorim’s coaches have already formed an early impression of the squad and have identified three players they expect to reach new heights under Amorim.
The report states that United’s new coaches are “excited” to release the untapped potential in many of the side’s young players, and have highlighted striker Rasmus Højlund as an example as one who can prove players wrong.
They are also said to see Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo as two players who are “expected to reach new levels” as they continue to work and improve under Amorim.
One-on-one coaching
Mainoo and Amad have been subject to multiple one-on-one talks with Amorim during training sessions, often relating to their movement and timing on the pitch.
All players have also had the chance to sit down one-on-one with Amorim as he gets to know his players on more personal levels, and many have highlighted Manuel Ugarte as a player who will benefit from his appointment.
The Sky Sports report also states that there is a “buzz” around Carrington that 19-year-old £52 million centre-back signing Leny Yoro will finally be able to make his official debut at the club four months after he signed.
The coaches’ overall message is that they feel the current crop of United players will be able to improve and deliver much more than they’ve shown this season.
