Toby Collyer has returned to Manchester United training as Rúben Amorim prepares to take on Real Sociedad in the first of a double-legged Europa League knockout fixture.

Rúben Amorim will be aiming for his Manchester United side to extend their strong Europa League form as they take on Real Sociedad in the knockout stage.

Despite their struggles in the Premier League and a recent FA Cup exit, United have won all three of their European matches under the Portuguese coach and now face La Liga opposition in the round of 16.

The first leg takes place in San Sebastián on Thursday evening, with the return fixture at Old Trafford a week later.

With their domestic campaign faltering and FA Cup hopes over, lifting the Europa League trophy offers United their best chance of securing Champions League football next season.

Who was spotted in United training?

Many of the usual suspects who are expected to travel to Spain on Wednesday afternoon were spotted in training, with Bruno Fernandes, Leny Yoro, and Casemiro among those at Carrington.

Young striker Chido Obi was spotted with the group despite the club choosing not to select him in their revised Europa League squad, while Harry Amass, James Scanlon, and Jack Fletcher were also with the team.

Patrick Dorgu has returned to the squad after serving the first match of his three-game domestic ban against Fulham at the weekend. His suspension, which resulted from a red card against Ipswich Town last week, does not apply to European competition.

After around three weeks out with an injury, midfielder Toby Collyer has returned to training with the first team, which is a big boost for Amorim and his squad. However, Manuel Ugarte and Harry Maguire were both out of training due to “minor issues” picked up against Fulham.

Mason Mount and Luke Shaw were absent as they continued individual recovery before eventually returning to first-team training. Others may still have been in training but not spotted, and this page will be updated as more are seen.
