Man Utd prepare new academy deal as Getafe confirm Mason Greenwood transfer stance
Manchester United are preparing a new contract for academy striker Joe Hugill after the youngster has impressed Erik ten Hag.
Joe Hugill is yet to be handed his senior debut at Manchester United, but after impressing Erik ten Hag in training and during pre-season, the club are set to reward the striker with a new contract.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United want to hand Hugill a new deal at Old Trafford before sending him on loan during the January window, where he would see out a six-month loan deal before the club make a further decision on his future in the summer.

Hugill has not made a senior appearance for United yet but has been included on the bench three times, against Everton, Bayern Munich, and Galatasaray.
Meanwhile, Getafe president Angel Torres has hinted that the La Liga club would like to sign Mason Greenwood on loan for a further season, confirming that they have held talks with United in recent days in relation to the player’s future.
“We had a video conference a few days ago,” Torres said, speaking to the media. “Almost every month, we talk to see how he is.
“The boy is super happy. Now he is there, in England. The family too. They know we are interested in him staying one more year, and I think we are on the right track.”
A report on Thursday suggested that Getafe have proposed a £40 million bid to sign Greenwood on a permanent basis, but in the interest of keeping their options as wide as possible, United rejected the offer.
